How do I do this?
One of the old ways was to use keywords. This is a selection of words that you put at the top of your web site, in the code that the user does not see. It is there for the search engines to index your page in their database. Although this is still important, it is not the most important method any more.
Organic growth
You could also leave your web page on the internet and hope that over time people will find it and keep going back to it. This is a very cheap option but with so many web sites around you will have no control over what happens.
Link Building
This is a method of getting people to link to your site who are also well respected in the search engine. There are several ways to do this:-
1. You could approach as many web sites as you can to ask them for a returning link. You may have to pay for some of these.
2. You could pay to have someone with a list of guaranteed site submissions.
3. You could write articles to appear on your professional association web site.
4. You could research relevant business directories and add your company to it
This method can take some time to set up but at the moment combined with pay per click you can achieve great results in a very short time.
Image SEO
Pictures on your website have a text alternative for when it does not load. This should be filled in with SEO rich keywords.
Google places
Setting up your company in Google Places allows you to put your company on the map. It also offers many other options like the offers area. Here you can put on a special promotion for a 30 day period.
Pay Per Click
Pay per click is a way of bidding for your position on the search engines pages. You normally only pay when the link is clicked. This is a good method to limit your costs and allow you to budget.
